So I am going to buy some new Sunglasses, but cannot decide what to get. I am wanting to either get Ray Bands or Costa Del Mar sunglasses, but am now drifting more towards Ray Bands. I recently purchased a pair of Oakley Half Jackets, however, I do not like them because the frame sticks out on the side (I think my head might be small.) I am looking for good, stylish sunglasses that are no more than $130.

So I am wanting to buy some new sunglasses soon for everyday use and wearing. I am going to either get Oakley or Costa Del Mar Sunglasses. I know Costas are for fishing, but they seem to be pretty popular and seem cool. I am also looking into Costas because I already have a pair of Oakleys but they scratched. Which sunglasses brand is better for everyday use?

Get the Costas, not just because they are different and you already have Oakleys. They are also more functional and durable, after all, if its used for fishing it'll work for everyday. They've got great reviews too.

Linked to my previous question; what was the time when they weren't in fashion (the sixties I've gathered) and not vintage (like, now).

Definitely weren't in during the nineties.
And weren't really in during the eighties, but big sporty ones were in during the eighties.

can costa del mar sunglaases get wet. say im at the pool, can i wear them in the water. just wondering because i dont want to mess them up, thanks.

Sure they can, just keep suntan oils off them. The oil might ruin the lens, otherwise I know lifeguard that wear them all summer.

Costa Del Mar are fishing sunglasses, but still make a great lens and they have the polarization in the lens so if they're scratched you don't see light spots. but I don't know about Oakley, if there better. Whats everyone"s input?

Oakleys are most known for being well-designed for handling impact during athletics, not to mention for being light and not slipping, etc.

I'd easily take one of their sport performance models (Radars, Flak Jackets) as my first choice.

During what years (e.g the nineties etc.) were over-sized sunglasses 'in'? Not in as in vintage, but when they originally came into fashion. Doesn't have to be specific.
