I want to make a little goody bag with things that we will need on our trip. So far, I have bought a new pair of sunglasses, coconut-scented lotion, a spanish-mix c.d. and flip flops.

What else can I put in there???????

beach hat
chapstick w/sunscreen
mini first aid kit (you can get them at the dollar store and smart if you are going to hike)
mosquito repellent
disposable underwater camera
sunscreen

such as costa del mar…. please help me out. everyone has costas and i rather get something else.

Consider a pair of Maui Jim sunglasses–I have a pair, but I tend to wear my Costa del Mar’s a lot more. Just a suggestion, but get a pair of Costas in both colors (brown and a black pair) so that you can match what you wear. Also, the different lenses are great for driving(copper or vermilion) or on those days when you have a hangover (blue 580 lenses). I agree, Costas are everywhere, but they are comfortable and the lenses rock. I fought it, too–but that many people can’t be wrong.

If you’re dead set on being different, check out Ray-Ban and Polo Ralph Lauren frames as well. As a guy, I would stay away from the Gucci and Prada, etc. as those are for the spiky-haired club trash crowd.

Title says it all. I currently have CDM Brine Green Mirror sunglasses, and want something a bit more professional looking (black frame/not shiny lenses/temple grey stuff). I want a frame that is similar to the CDM Brine, though. Can you help me?

Perhaps the Maui Jim Stingray will work for you; frame seems similar to CDM Brine. Anyway, I recommend you search the eBay offerings for Maui Jim products, of which there are many.

Here’s another idea for you. I just bought a pair of Maui Jim Kahuna sunglasses (in gunmetal grey; list for $275) from an optician’s office and got my prescription added on. I wanted them measured and fitted properly so I paid full price. These are spectacular sunglasses (”modified aviator style”) to wear and they look like a million bucks. People notice them and ask about them. Many raves. A very high quality product. Feels like the sunglass equivalent of a Ferrari.

Are all Costa Del Mar sunglasses good for fishing or are certain lense colors better for certain styles of fishing? Personally im looking for a pair that will help with flats, inshore, jetty, and estuary fishing.

I have been fishing competitively for a few years and Costa glasses are my choice. I have a pair of 7 Mile glasses I wear everyday and I fish in a pair of Fluid glasses. Since I have the ability to play with lense color of the Fluid model, I have found that the amber & vermillion colors seem to offer optimum penetration in the water. As for the cost, I would have to agree they are pricy and there are several options that are very good at less of a cost. The main thing that has kept me using Cosat's is I had to send a pair back twice for damage repair. Both times Costa sent me a new pair in a short time. There is something to be said for service like that. You'll be happy with the product if you decide to go with them.
